India has at since ages suffered from dowry system where brides are supposed to bring in materialistic world along with love and care, what best is to abolish the same completely. In this regard, Mewar University took the initiative and came forward to create awareness among nearby village area Gangrar. One day awareness programme was held in this regard on 16th November, 2018. Students of the University along with faculty members participated in this programme. Through stage performances and street plays students passed on the message of completely abolishing such a practice and accepting females as human beings at the time of marriage and not as a means of financial and materialistic gains. A poster competition was also organized in this regard. Best posted presenter won certificate and prize. The programme was successful as the villagers were able to understand the true meaning and importance of girls. The response of the crowd was overwhelming. Dean Academics appreciated the initiative and contribution made by the students and faculty members alike.
