MU signs MoU with IICE, Lucknow to run joint civil engineering courses

Mewar University (MU) and the Indian Institute of Civil Engineering (IICE) Lucknow entered into an MoU on June 6, 2013 for running joint academic programs and for providing training to the university’s Civil Engineering Diploma students. Civil engineering deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings etc. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering.

Civil engineering as a professional engineering discipline has been very much in demand due to the infrastructure boom in India as well as abroad. The demand for qualified specialized civil engineers is growing exponentially. In view of this growing demand, MU felt that several sub-disciplines in civil engineering require specialized short & long term programs and hence joined hands with the IICE in this regard. The IICE was established to identity, design & conduct specialized civil engineering programs and to act as a bridge between Industry & Academia in terms of providing specialized human resources to the industry as per their demand.

IICE is established, incorporated & licensed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Govt. of India under section 25 of the Company Act. IICE also conducts research in the field of skill development in construction technology.
