Delegation from University of Toledo pays a successful visit to MU

The delegates from University of Toledo, (Ohio, USA) led by Dr. Nagi G. Naganathan (Dean, College of Engineering),  Dr. Steven Leblance (Executive Associate Dean of Academics Affair) and Dr. Abdy Afjeh (Chairman of Mechanical Engineering) visited Mewar University, Chittorgarh to explore areas of collaboration in the development of course curriculum, infrastructure and facilities for research in science and technology during  April 7-8, 2013

The University of Toledo (UT) is one of the 14 state universities in Ohio, USA. Established in 1872, it became a member of the state university system in 1967. The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged in July 2006 to form the third-largest public university in the state. The University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  At UT, researchers are working at all levels — from undergraduates to faculty — towards a mission of making advancements in science and technology as well as other fields of knowledge. In fact, their combined efforts have led to 125 patents and nearly $60 million in funding and grants.

The visiting delegation was accorded a warm welcome by honourable Chairman - C.A. Sh Ashok Gadiya ji, President of MU - Dr. Pankaj Chandna, Pro-President - Mr. C.R.Chaudhary and the academic team.

Dr. Nagi gave an audio-visual presentation followed by a discussion on various possibilities of training programs as well as faculty and student exchange programs in order to augment the academic standards of Mewar University in line with the US universities.

Delegates visited various departments and advanced laboratories of Mewar University used to impart quality education to the students.

They were highly impressed that the Mewar University had highly qualified and experienced faculty members, modern and advanced facilities and the exceptional teaching arrangements to offer to all its students and felt extremely satisfied with the professional educational structure.

This visit strengthened the association between University of Toledo and Mewar University, which, in turn, supports further development of this collaborative program.
